Hi, I’m McKenna Baskett   —creator of Just Look Around, an initiative I started to blend STEAM learning with leadership and impact. I believe that STEAM  builds self-esteem, and that confidence grows when we use creativity and connection to make a difference. I’m a NASA  Essay Contest winner whose writing is currently traveling through space aboard Artemis I. However, I've learned that you don’t need a rocket or a robot to create change because most powerful tools we have are our voice, our ideas, and the courage to use them.

That’s why I launched the Power of the Pen, a project that turns community interviews, letter writing, and journaling into a way to grow leadership, literacy, and connection. Through this and my P.O.W.E.R. Moves Framework, I’ve donated 500+ STEAM kits and raised over $1,500 for education, and to connect kids across communities.

Every part of my work reflects what I believe: when we Notice what’s around us, Navigate what’s possible, and Nurture what matters, we grow in confidence—and learn how to lead.
